  • Movie about preachers daughter falls in love with young preacher
  • Author:
  • I watched a movie on cable a few years ago, I wrote down the name, however, I missed placed it, or threw it away while cleaning. (Or someone did). The movie started with this teenage girl, around 18 years old, I believe she was the preacher's daughter. She went to pick up this young preacher that was coming into town, to take over the head preacher's position. The young preacher likes to be around the teenage girl, so every chance they both got, they would be around each other. They eventually fell in love, and were talking about marriage. However, there was a war that was going on, I think maybe WWII, and he was sent over there to be a chaplain. While he was there, he was caught in a bombing, and was presumed to have been killed. The young girl's father passed away, and she found out that he was in debt, and left her no place to live. Her neighbor, a man that was in love with her, allowed her to live with him. They would eventually fall in love, and marry. I really do not want to give away to much more of the movie, it is really good, and has some good twist to it. My mother thinks that Janet Leigh was in the movie, however, looking at her IMDB listing, it does not show the movie listed under her profile. We cannot remember anyone else that was in the movie, and we are stuck. Any help on this one, will be wonderful! Thank you Carrzkiss

  • Hey TheGamer. Thanks for the post. I will check it out and see if this is the one or not. I am thinking that there may be another version to the movie. As I only got to see it one time, and I do not remember it being a story That was told by the Grandmother. Then again, I do not remember if I saw the movie from the beginning or not. It was one of those spare of the moment things. Channel surfing, and I found something that looked interesting. Why I did not record it, I have no idea. I will get back with you soon. Thanks once again. Carrzkiss

  • I subscribed to the PIXL Movie Channel YouTube channel for a month (Only $1.99) And I watched the movie, however, I do not think that it is the right one. I do not remember the women talking to her grand-daughter. And well. There are a lot of parts that just do not add up, for the version that I watched. I can vaguely remember, her driving a convertible to pick up the assistant preacher. Then again, It was a long time ago, so. Not really sure. I am going to leave this one open a little longer, to see if any more suggestions come in. Thank again TheGamer. The movie was good, just not sure if it is the correct one or not. Carrzkiss
