Knowledge Exchange is something that Wayne Barron thought up around 1999-2000, when he was first learning how to design websites.
Wayne BarronI would like to make a site where people can come in and help others, a place where no matter how small or large the question is. The community answers it. In addition, where the members will treat each question asker, as they are a part of something special. A place where members treat each other with respect and questions are given the upmost priority, no matter how small or large that question may be.
and over the course of many years, excelled in the development of ASP (Active Server Pages) and SQL Server, as well as Access Database design and Queries. Helping on the site became a passion of Wayne's however, he always saw himself with his own site, where people could do just as they do on the other Question and Answer site.
While working on the site CFF Coding Source, the idea to design Knowledge Exchange was born. A free site for people to come and ask questions, and for those with the knowledge to assist in answering those questions. We are not a competing site, against other sites that are like KE in design or structure.
The point system is simple. When you ask a question, and someone comments, and the asker accepts it as answer, 50 points will then be awarded to the person. The asker has 5,000 points, and can ask up to 100 questions. The asker must answer questions to gain more points or write an Article. However, we do encourage everyone to participate in helping others; this is what makes a site such as Knowledge Exchange into a community of volunteers.
